Editorial comment:
Although given the rank of 'ordo' Agardh's name was used as if a family. First definitely used in the rank of family by Fée, Essai crypt.écorc.: xxi (1824), nom.inval., Art. 32.1(b); see Art. 18.4 and first spelt correctly by Watson, New Phytol. 28: 23 (1929).
